If you studied abroad, had an intership, or participated in a design/design workshop this summer, the wall across from PSS 108 is open for work postings. Create a poster showcasing your work and post it up to share with the department. TTU SASLA will not cover printing costs.

TTU SASLA dues are once again $25 this year. The money helps cover food, competition entry fees, Aggie Workshop entry, free lunch at Alumni Workshop, and gives you a 20% discount on art/drafting supplies at Varsity Bookstore (Once you receive your TTU SASLA membership card, visit the side office inside Varsity, show your TTU SASLA card, and you will be given a special Varsity discount card). Dues must be payed by Wednesday, September 30th at 5 pm. If you do not pay dues by that time, dues can be payed with a late fee by Friday, October 30th at 5 pm. Late dues are $30. Please see TTU SASLA President Peter Shaw or TTU SASLA Treasurer Carson Bledsoe for payment.
ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY Posted: 9/8
This year's first Adopt-A-Highway will be September 27th at 10 AM. We will meet in the Dean's parking lot (located between the Plant Soil Sciences/Goddard building and the Southwest Collections building). The 2009 Alumni Workshop is comming up on Friday, October 9th. Texas Tech Landscape Architecture alumni will be joining us for presentations, portfolio critiques, and a rendering workshop. More details and scheduleing will be available soon.

Opposite of room PSS 108 is a wall dedicated to work produced in the Summer 2009 sessions. If you had an internship, study abroad, or design class this summer, you are invited to compile a display sheet of your work and post it up on the wall.
RECYCLE BINS Posted: 9/8
TTU SASLA is continuing to sponsor a recycling program in the Pavilion and PSS building. We are recycling plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and paper in gray and white bins located around the PSS and Pavilion. Please do not throw trash in these bins! Only what they are labeled for!

This year's LARC Buds program will be run by Jessica Beard and Tanner Hansel. LARC Buds is a 1st year-upper year mentoring program in Landscape Architecture. 1st years are given an upper year within the program to answer questions, help he/she become aquainted to the program here at Texas Tech. Welcome back to school everyone! I hope everyone's summer was fantastic. We have a great new year planned for TTU SASLA and we hope to see all the old and new faces of the department at our first meeting on September 8th at 6 PM in room PSS 108.
