RECYCLEING PROGRAM Posted: 4/8
Peter Shaw has spoken to SGA and several other departments to research on recycling programs across campus. Peter is starting a Landscape Architecture Recycling program to set up recycling receptacles across campus with LA volunteers emptying out and taking the trash to Lowe's once a week. The program would start next semester. If you are interested in helping with the organization or pick ups, more information will be posted soon and ask an officer or Peter Shaw.

The next LEED study session on April 9th will be replaced with the Pond Raffle design charette. So stop by the pavilion at 8 PM to help throw around designs and draft up a final plan for what will be installed this Saturday.

The 2008 Pond Raffle is finally over and we have accumulated over $1400. The installation will take place on Saturday, April 12th in Brownfield. Meet at Chad's house at 2715 35th Street at 8:00 AM on Saturday and we will carpool over to the site which is located at 1304 S. Paula Pl. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers. A cookout will be held at Chad's house afterwards at 6PM as well. Hope to see everyone there!

The next LEED study session has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 26th at 8:00 PM in the Pavilion. Study sessions are now being held twice a month due to the fast approaching end of the year. The TTU SASLA adopt-a-highway is currently setting a date for the first clean-up. Arrangements are being made and the unofficial and tentative date is set for Saturday, April 18th. Help is always needed and we would appreciate any and all volunteers. The cleanup will most likely take 1-2 hours, with a max being 4 (very unlikely though). We will keep everyone updated and a date will be set by the next meeting.

The Texas ASLA state convention will be held on April 3-4th in Fort Worth, Texas. Remember to register online at the Texas ASLA web page before February 29th if you are an ASLA national member, otherwise you will have to pay $50 after this date.

AGGIE WORKSHOP Posted: 1/15
The 2008 Aggie Workshop in College Station will be held on February 21-23. If you are interested in attending and/or want to share a hotel room with other members, contact TTU SASLA President Chad Dietz. If you plan on going, the fee is $60 to be paid to TTU SASLA. Upon attending the workshop, your $60 will be fully reimbursed by TTU SASLA. The fee is due by January 25th.

As many of you already know, Jean Kavanagh, a LA Professor here at Tech, was diagnosed with cancer over the break. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and has been recently transferred home. The 2007-2008 TTU SASLA year has started and we have begun taking dues. This year's dues are $25, are due before November 1st, and can be paid to TTU SASLA officer Jay Daniel. Official TTU SASLA t-shirts are also on sale for $10, TTU Landscape Architecture window stickers for $5, and we are currently backordering BORCO covers for $39 each.
