I was born in Houston, Texas, where I lived until first grade was
completed. Then, my dad was transferred to Singapore where I, along with
the rest of my family, moved and completed the rest of my elementary
school education. I was elected President of the fifth grade student
council of the Singapore American School while there. Living in
Singapore provided a chance to experience other cultures and viewpoints. I had the opportunity to visit many countries in
Asia. In 1994, my family and I moved back to Houston where I completed
the rest of my education. I am a graduate of Faithwest Academy, class of
2002. Since arriving at Texas Tech in the fall of 2004, I have been involved with many activities on campus. I joined the West Community Complex council, became the 2nd floor rep for Coleman Hall and received an award for Student of the Week for Leadership activities (January 27, 2005). I have also been a member of HowdyTechsans both as a participant and Leader. Currently, I am a member of the Student American Society of Landscape architects as well as serving as Secretary for the Carpenter/Wells complex council. I chose Landscape Architecture as a major because I enjoy the outdoors and have an interest in botanical gardens along with viewing waterfalls and historic landscape sites. The opportunity for me to design and create a unique space for people is the challenge I find very enjoyable.
