Yaxunah
There were
three areas in Yaxunah that the community wanted us to design; the
cenote, the area
behind the municipal building, and the zocolo, or
town square. The members of my group
included Colleen Price, Courtney Landreth, and
myself. The area we designed for was the zocolo.
The community wanted to add a fountain, another
basketball court, and a visitor's center. On the
night we were going to present to the community
leaders, a rain storm knocked out the electricity
so we had to complete our projects and present by
candlelight and flashlight. It was an incredibly
interesting and worthwhile experience.
Yaxachen
In
Yaxachen all three groups did different designs for the zocolo. We
then presented each design
to the community. In my group was Colleen Price,
Courtney Landreth, and Christian, one of the
architecture students.
