Ian Wells English 2311

This has been a very fulfilling semester. I feel as if I can't hold in my brain all that I have learned. I honestly wasn't looking forward to this class when I knew that I was going to have to take it this Spring. I have never been a fan of English courses. I'm not sure if this is because I don't like to write or if it is because I have grown up in a house living with an English teacher.

I must say though that this class has been the most interesting and knowledgeable of all the English courses that I taken in the past. I believe that it is because I have been able to apply this course to what I will be actually doing in the future. I am here at Tech studying landscape architecture and communication skills are very important. If I can't communicate in an intelligent fashion with clients then I will not be able to be quite as successful as my peers in the business world.

The assignments that we were given throughout the semester pertained highly to the types of writing that I will be doing in the future. This course has encompassed all parts of communication in the business world. It also touch on helpful hints when even when it comes to giving presentations.

Most of the assignments given to me have been very useful. The resume assignment was very helpful, particularly since I will be looking for a job in the near future. I will have to use my resume to be able to sell myself to any perspective employers. Another assignment that was useful to me was the job letter since in the same since of the resume I will have find a job in the future. The presentation assignment was extremely useful to me since I will hopefully be trying to present information that I gain to clients in my career. These assignments have been very useful to me since they have helped me in my communication skills.

I can't wait until I will be able to use what I have learned in this course this semester. I believe that this course has been a very useful on to me and my major and my profession. I will be able to take what I have learned in this course and actually apply it to my life.
